How We Research Articles

Every article on Jealous Computers is built from sources we can name and check. Depending on the topic, our writers use:

  • Manufacturer manuals and official product documentation for software, apps, routers, and devices.
  • Official documentation from platform owners, such as help centers and developer docs for social media and gaming services.
  • Standards bodies and public technical references, including NIST publications, IETF RFCs, and OWASP guidance for security topics.
  • Public data sets and government resources, such as CISA advisories, FTC consumer alerts, and vendor security bulletins.
  • Hands-on testing with our own accounts and hardware where a guide requires it.

We do not cite invented sources, anonymous insiders, or unnamed studies. If a claim cannot be traced to a document or a test we ran, we do not publish it as fact.

Who Writes Our Articles

Jealous Computers is written by a team of contributor authors. Each article carries an author fact line that names the contributor and, where relevant, their background. Contributors write in their own areas of experience, and every piece is reviewed by an editor before it goes live.

How Topics Are Chosen

We pick topics based on reader questions, changes in software and platform policies, new security threats, and gaps we notice in existing guides. We prioritize subjects where we can add tested steps or verified documentation rather than repeating press releases. We do not accept topic requests in exchange for payment or placement.

Independence and Advertising

Editorial recommendations are made independently of advertising and affiliate relationships. Jealous Computers does not sell article placement, sponsored rankings, or positive reviews. If we ever add affiliate links, they will be disclosed clearly, and they will not change what we recommend. At this time, we do not use affiliate links in our articles.

We do use the following tools and links, which are disclosed here for transparency:

  • Google Analytics 4, to understand which pages readers use.
  • YouTube video embeds inside some articles.
  • Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube profile links in the site footer.
  • An Android app listing on Google Play, linked from the footer.

These tools do not influence our editorial decisions. No company pays us to be included in a guide, review, or list.

Use of AI Tools

We sometimes use AI tools as a drafting aid, but a human editor is responsible for every published article and all facts are checked against primary sources before publishing.

Corrections and Updates

We correct errors when we find them or when readers report them. To report a correction, email partners@jealouscomputers.com with the article URL and the specific issue. We aim to review and correct verified errors within a few days. When an article changes in a meaningful way, we add a dated update note at the top or bottom of the page so readers can see what changed and when.

Safety and Advice Limits

Our cybersecurity, antivirus, VPN, and password guides are educational. They are not a substitute for professional incident response, legal advice, or a managed security service. Steps that involve changing system settings, removing malware, or recovering accounts can carry risk; follow the instructions for your specific software version and back up data first. If you are dealing with an active breach, contact a qualified security professional or the relevant platform’s support team.
